Known around the world for its world class skiing, Vail is also home to an amazing line up of year round entertainment. From summer concerts, to tree lightings, and holiday ice skating shows, there is always something happening around town. The team at Kaleidoscope Productions is often in the village or on the mountain providing technical services for a wide variety of events and range of different weather challenges.
In 2022, we produced 8 weeks of live music and entertainment branded the Vail Apres Spring Series. This included live music, DJ’s, and a film partnership with Teton Gravity Research. Our team also produces Revely, an annual lighting and video wall installation that celebrates the winter sports history of the town. Visitors love to take a selfie with the centerpiece display in Lionshead village. Incorporating, lighting, video, and a very custom set of 12′ tall skis, the Revely display was designed and created by our team for the Town of Vail.
Other annual events that we work on in Vail include Project Funway, an annual fashion show that raises money for the Education Foundation of Eagle County. The rules of the fashion show are pretty simple. You can’t use fabric and all of the designs have to be completely original and hand made. We have seen some pretty amazing haute couture throughout the years, but our favorite was the dress that was designed for us in 2018. You might have to look closely to figure out the “material”, but the dress really captured the colors and spirit of our company.
We also love working with the Skating Club of Vail on their annual ice skating show. Providing sound, lighting design, and a video wall, it is always great to see the skaters enjoying themselves on the ice. From the little kids to the olympic hopefuls, the smiles make it all worth while. Other events in Vail have included weddings, private parties, and corporate events both in the village, and on the mountain.
